Samsung Internet for Android is a mobile web browser for smartphones and phablets developed by Samsung. It is based on the open source Chromium project. It is pre-installed on Samsung Galaxy devices. Since 2015, it has been available for download from the Google Play Store. According to StatCounter data, it had a market share of around 7% (among 37% for all Chrome variants) around October 2016, with Samsung estimating that it had around 400 million monthly active users at that time.

According to Samsung, most of the code differences to the standard Chromium code base were introduced in order to support Samsung-specific hardware, such as Gear VR and biometric sensors.
